We’re saddened to announce that Tavern 1888 has officially closed. While we hoped to stay open until the 31st, staff shortages have led us to close earlier, with the 25th being our unexpected final day.

Tavern 1888 gift cards and loyalty codes can still be redeemed at The Inn at 2nd & C and Phatsy Klines, where we’ll continue to welcome you with open arms.

We still hope to find a buyer who will continue the tradition, and we’re open to any opportunities that will bring a wonderful presence to our building.

To our loyal customers, purveyors, staff, friends, and family—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It’s been an honor to serve you. We look forward to seeing you at The Inn, Phatsy Klines, and the many events that make Eagle House a cornerstone of the Eureka community.

Our extraordinary twist on the classic Mojito, created by our talented bartender Loughlin, trades out traditional mint for shiso! 🌱Shiso a herbaceous herb from China and India has a complex flavor that’s been described as grassy, citrusy, and refreshing, with hints of basil, cumin, clove, mint, tarragon, cilantro, cinnamon, and anise. 🌿
Some say it tastes like the smell of a mountain meadow after a rainstorm.
