Creating this urn for a “Congressional Medal of Honor” recipient and Colonel really meant a lot to us. I mentioned the order to Doug, my Husband, because it’s just not something you see every day. Doug finished and engraved the urn and it truly was a beautiful memorial piece.

We have made countless urns over the years and it’s a job that I know is a privilege and I take my role in the process very seriously. An urn is the final resting place for someone and it’s a huge responsibility to do the job right. Without fail I always ask myself, “Was this the best work we can do to honor the memory of this person?” I always hope so.

No worries…we did donate most of the wood to local residents that will put this wood to good use. 🪵 Some of it will be coming back to us after being milled, so Doug can make beautiful detail walls in our new home on the Mountain. ⛰️ Phase II—the foundation coming soon. 🔜 It’ll so exciting to see a big dream unfolding before our eyes. It means a lot to so many. 🤎
