Well, what a World Cup that was! ⚽

Building the beer garden and watching the games with so many of you was one of the highlights of our year. Some of you came because you love football (soccer), some came to support us and England, and all of you made it something special. The beauty of this game is that it brings people together, and you did not disappoint. Thank you!

Before we wrap it up, there are a few people we have to acknowledge, because without them, none of this happens.

First, most of you don’t know this, but we spent three days before the first US game putting the beer garden together: tent, lights, tables, plants, TV, speakers, all of it. The night before the game, a storm that wasn’t even on the radar came through and destroyed the tent completely, taking the TV with it. We had one day to rebuild. We texted our friend Alec at AR Ashbaugh Construction to see if he had any ideas, and he didn’t just have a tent to lend us, he and his team came and put the entire thing up themselves. Wow, what a blessing, what a company and what wonderful people in our midst.

Second, our friend Mo, who co-leads . Mo came to us as a customer, and he and his family have become dear friends. When he heard about our World Cup plans, he lent us his speakers, connected everything, synced our indoor TVs, lent us his swamp cooler and mega fan - and when he saw how slammed we were, he poured beers and bussed tables, too. He was at every US and England game making sure everything ran smoothly. We’re planning to put him on payroll and train him on the POS. 😉 Thank you, Mo. You’re a gem.

And finally, our incredible team. The World Cup was something we couldn’t wait to share with everyone, but it put real pressure on our front and back of house. At times we had an extra 40-50 people in and around our small building, and our kitchen felt every bit of it. Through all of it, they delivered exceptional food, service, and support. None of this happens without them. Thank you for all you do for us. 🩷

Okay friends, that’s a wrap on World Cup 2026. Thank you to everyone who shared it with us, we had a blast! 🍻

Wow, that storm hit fast! We and our team ran like Usain Bolt to get the tent down in time, but several areas weren’t as lucky. If anyone is headed to The Last Queen tonight (Friday), please note roads may be closed from I-70 (Enon Road/N Xenia Drive) due to downed power lines and trees. However, Main Street (Dayton-Springfield Road) is open.

The weather looks to have cleared, but if anyone needs electricity or any help, please swing on by. Mother Nature can be a beast - take care community. 🩷💙
