Deeply saddened and shocked by the passing of Pascal CLAIRET from Domaine de la Tournelle. Whether it was his bellowing laugh from across a crowded room, his American style bear hugs, or quiet conversation at his kitchen table, Pascale generated a warmth, kindness, joy and love for humanity that has deeply marked me. He also had a piercing gaze that made clear he suffered no fools, and like his wines, struck you to the core. I first met Pascal and his wife Evelyne in 2011 and last saw them in February 2019, when we shared a warming and restorative pot au feu and I met their youngest child for the first time, who had come home from school to join us for lunch. Pascal has left us far too soon. My heart goes out to his wife Evelyne and their children.
