Time to fill everyone in on what's been going on with d's Wicked C***r behind the scenes! In short, last year we had a plan to bring back several c***r flavors but we ran into complications on the production and wholesale distribution side. That's now been cleared up and we're moving forward with new distribution, a c***r finder (FINALLY) and the seasonal flavors you've been asking for.
Here's the long version if interested:
Iron Horse Brewery took over production of d's Wicked C***r last year. It was kind of like a "here's the keys to the car, take it for a spin and see if you'd like to buy it" kind of deal between the owners of d's Wicked and Iron Horse Brewery. It was a strange limbo-like state, where Iron Horse's production, sales and marketing teams were all kind of confused about what Iron Horse could and couldn't do since Iron Horse doesn't actually own the brand.
Over the past year, the owners of d's and IHB went back and forth over different versions of production and purchase agreements, and only recently came to a more solid agreement that paints a clearer picture of the logistics moving forward.
Luckily for the fans of d's Wicked, this means you'll finally see seasonal 6-packs in addition to Baked Apple on the shelf. Next up: GREEN APPLE. We have it sitting in tanks ready to be packaged - we're just waiting on the labels to arrive.
There are some Peach Cobbler 6-packs out there in the wild as well, but since we didn't have full buy-in from wholesale partners at the time of producing it they're harder to find than the flagship Baked Apple.
And if you're still reading, here are two more bit of good news. IHB is actively setting up a C***R FINDER, which means you'll soon have a way to just plug in your zip code and see all the locations near you carrying d's Wicked C***r.
And last but not least: single serve tallboys. You'll come across the occasional d's Baked Apple in a 19.2oz can in your convenience store adventures, but we're looking to expand the tallboy lineup. So, the brewers at IHB have gotten with the mastermind behind the d's Wicked C***r recipes and began to develop a high-ABV imperial c***r. More on this soon as the brewers figure out how to scale up the production without breaking the bank in the process.
And if you just scrolled to the bottom of this essay here are the highlights to recap: IHB and d's have come to a clearer agreement, our wholesale partners are picking up more d's to get out into the market, Green Apple hits shelves in about a month, a c***r finder is coming soon, and keep your eyes out for a post about an upcoming imperial c***r.
Cheers!
