‼️Good Morning El Reno‼️
Mike Freeman here. Checking in with all of my friends. Did you see the post about a complaint at the restaurant? We served an over cooked order of Meatloaf. And yeah, it was over cooked.
I wasn’t there when it happened (I know, “but you’re always there”.) so I made a call to the MOD (Manager on Duty) and figured out what happened.
Let me start the explanation with, Freeman’s is really busy. We have been
blessed with more and more guests every week which has stretched the limits of everyone and every system in the restaurant. Especially the kitchen.
To be completely honest, we have been running short staff in the kitchen for awhile. That’s why you’ve been seeing me back there a lot, if not most of the time lately. I have hands down, the most talented kitchen crew anyone could assemble in El Reno. Hands down the best.
That would be:
Sam Watson, Irelyn Scott, Fernando Díaz, Alexis Robertson, Annie Cohen and Madison LeFever plus Kim Gutierrez doing the prep work. Kudos to this crew. They’ve endured a lot and have never let me down.
But-getting back to the explanation as to why we had the failure.
I’ve needed to add more line staff (cooks), so once again, I just asked the lord for help (that’s what I’ve always done) and like manna from Heaven, this incredibly talented lady named Diana Hawk falls into place.
She’s good, really good. She’s been with us for almost two weeks but still learning the menu, the system, the Freeman’s Standard. And as we all know very well, part of the learning process involves making mistakes. We catch most of them before they ever go out but this one slipped through. And I am sorry.
I don’t ever want our guests to think or feel like they can’t talk to me or my staff about something they believe is not up to the Freeman’s standard. 90% of everything that comes out of our kitchen is hand made. The same way our parents and grand parents did it. Made with lots of love. But also with lots of opportunities for mistakes.
We are good at what we do. Really good. Just serving food that makes people happy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.
But when we mess it up, let us know. If you’ve ever spoken with me or my staff about an issue, you know we’ll make it right. Always have. Always will.
We’re growing, learning and testing new things out in order to keep up with the new customers coming in to experience El Reno’s own restaurant-
Freeman’s.
Where friends and family come to gather and make memories in a historic building in Downtown El Reno. Serving food that “simply makes people happy” (most of the time 😜).
