Water is back on.....but let me make something extremely clear and get on my soapbox for a minute.

While this didn't affect me, I'm still upset for the other business owners on the street. The water was off for approximately two hours. While that may not seem like a big deal....there are restaurants prepping for their Friday night rushes, hair salons that have to figure out how to finish with clients when they have no water and reschedule others.....its a mess.

For the love of God.....if the water needs to be shut down in the future for this traffic circle, please let the businesses know do that we can plan accordingly.

Apparently, the City of Eden turned the water off on sections of Washington Street this afternoon without letting local businesses know for I'm assuming the traffic circle project....but since nothing was communicated, that's just an assumption.

Guess no one realizes that in NC, restaurants are generally required to close immediately if they lose their running water per the health codes. A little heads up would have been nice.

We'll be closed until it comes back on.

Today is International Picnic Day! In honor of that, and the fact that this week's Beneath the Surface is on the Picnic Bridge, Mebane Bridge, we came up with a 1920s-1930s inspired Picnic board of the week.

This board includes:

- Crackers
- Fresh Fruit
- Salmon Mousse with Cucumbers
- Pepperoni
- 2 Cheeses
- Cucumber Sandwiches
- Choice of Pimento Cheese or Broccoli Salad
- Cranberry Mousse

This board will be $18 and served this week only!
