ANNOUNCEMENT:
After many years in the restaurant industry the Great Mandarin family has made the choice to retire at the end of the year. After 32 years of operating in Eden Prairie Center, with pride and profound appreciation, we will serve guests for the last time on Dec. 31, 2022.
We are making this announcement in order to give our many longtime patrons and friends a chance to visit us as well as to allow those who are currently holding Great Mandarin gift certificates the opportunity to redeem them, before we wave goodbye on New Year's Eve. We also hope you will help us in spreading the word, as we have closed our website, so Facebook will be our only external communication platform.
As many of you know, the pandemic changed a lot of things for all of us. It was a real challenge to make the food you love available to you while also protecting our health and yours. On top of that, supply chain made food costs higher, staffing shortages meant our family owned restaurant had to work harder, and we put everything we had into staying connected with the community…all out of joy and appreciation for you.
We love what we do. We love all the wonderful people we’ve met over the years. We love the foundation we’ve built in Eden Prairie (our boys went to school here), we love our connection to the Southwest Metro (our restaurant succeeded here), and we love the land of 10,0000 Lakes and Minnesota (our family immigrated here many many years ago).
We must say goodbye after more than thirty rewarding years. You have shown us so much love, kindness, support, and appreciation that we will forever hold in our hearts all the friendships we have made over the years.
We wish to express our most heartfelt thanks for all the love and support of the Southwest Metro communities and businesses, Eden Prairie School District, Eden Prairie youth sports programs, the City of Eden Prairie, Eden Prairie Center Mall, the Minnesota Vikings, and all customers and friends who gave us the opportunity to feed our hearts by feeding their stomachs. Especially Randy Moss!
We also recognize and thank all past and current staff who have helped to make our dream a reality. Good food is one thing, but without the joyous enthusiasm of our wait staff and bartenders, we would be cooking for an empty room. So for every time you felt excited to order take out or dine in with us, please join us in thanking everyone who helped make Great Mandarin Restaurant your go to place for that special occasion—we would have never had the wonderful years we had without them.
*Our final day will be Dec. 31, 2022. More announcements will be made on social media so please encourage others to follow our Facebook and our Instagram: . If you have questions please call 952-941-9828.
In the meantime if you wish to send us fond memories or feedback, please post to our social media channels.
With love, appreciation, and humility,
The Great Mandarin Family
