Hi there! I am Shannon, the owner of Big Falls Candle Co and creator of the beautiful products. I am a wife and mom of 4 littles. I aim to keep my children as close to nature as realistically possible without breaking the budget or banning all contact with the world (aka “scrunchy mom”).

I started making candles after I began to learn about all the harmful ingredients in most candles that were in my home. Lighting a candle at dinner and allowing it to lead into our evening routine was such a cherished part of our evening routine but I couldn’t budget purchasing a $24+ candle ever couple weeks(or more) so I started making them! With his chemistry background, my husband was able to create a stellar formula for my candles and also is a huge part of why I am here today. I love being able to provide clean products at an economical price point, clearing something beautiful to enhance your olfactory environment and ambiance and hopefully brings a moment of balance to your day.

I have been caught too many times without a host gift for the holidays and know from personal experience how nice it is to feel recognized. A bottle of wine is nice but a candle can be enjoyed by everyone and can help calm the atmosphere. My autumn candles will be gone in about a week! I started my candle making journey as I was looking for a candle that was safe for my home and young children to be burning every evening as a part of our routine. When I burn a candle it helps me feel peace and relax despite the chaos 4 young children ensue! The candles that I found free from phthalates, parabens, dyes and lead were $20 or more and that wasn’t sustainable for me to purchase every couple weeks so I started making them! It is now a fun hobby for my husband and I to bond over and also a passion of mine to share these candles with others.
