Customer service is the ability to satisfy your customers’ needs and wants. It isn’t just important, it’s everything! In bars, great customer service is more than just handing your patrons the drinks or food they order with a smile and a “thank you.” That’s the minimum. You have to exceed their expectations on a regular basis to keep them coming back for more.

With the proper management and bartenders, your bar will turn into a great meeting place. People will come in to meet other people and share great food, a great beer, outstanding cocktails, and good conversation. That’s what it’s all about. You and your staff have to make this happen! After all, as the saying goes, “If you aren’t taking care of your customers, your competition will.”

While statistically 60% of new bars and restaurants close within the first year. The 40% remaining another 80% of those will fail to meet the 5-year mark. Location can be a big factor. But in the 28 years in the service industry a lot of the bars that I saw fail where. bars that were opened by people who worked their entire lives in another industry, retired or came into money and decided to open a bar. They did not have the necessary. Skills to successfully hire employees. While sitting on the other side of the bar may seem like a front row seat to what you can expect. There is a lot of complexities that go with running a bar. I can show you what those things are. Usually the ones that are successful are the ones run by a long-term service industry individuals who open their own bar or restaurant. A very big factor is who you hire to watch your bar or run it.
