Long overdue and long post. Grab your coffee. Give this a read. Love to all and donate when you can!
Background first. Flashback to the Pub Crawl. Remember the chuck-a- buck game? All those bucks that were raised went to the Berklee Rae Adamovich scholarship fund. The family was in for a fish fry and presented with those monies. Now the long part...a speech was read that we'd like to share with all of you
"We want to take a moment to present the family of Berklee Rae with the monies raised during our 2026 pub crawl.
But first, a little background. For those of you who may not have known Berklee; she was diagnosed with NUT carcinoma in December of 2020. During her year of battling this terrible disease our tiny community rallied around her and her family with prayers and support. We all became Berklee strong! Berklee unfortunately lost her battle in December of 2021 at the tender age of 10
Berklee was a sweet old soul who loved her friends and family. She always had a smile on her face and truly loved life.
In Berklee's memory, the family provides a scholarship every spring to a high school student pursuing a higher education as a nurse, child life specialist or doctor relating to oncology. The family also likes to donate to those within the community who may need assistance while going thru treatments or hospital stays
Berklee's mother Lindsey was asked for information that we could share with everyone on how to donate to this scholarship anytime. You can donate to the Berklee Strong Scholarship account at Nicolet bank or the Berklee Strong account at Northland Pines school.
The Squirrel would like to personally thank each and every person that donated to our chuck a buck game to raise funds for this Scholarship.
I would like to personally single out a few donors who went above and beyond.
1. Rick and Jamie at Shotskis
2. Bruce and Sandy Kaitchuck.
3. Dawn Olderman/ Nutty Squirell, who did a matching donation
All totaled, we were able to raise $2500!!!
(And on this night we raised, in house, another $500 for a grand total of $3000)
In the families true selfless nature ( Jarod, Lindsey, Michalynn, Brian, Linda and Lauren) they want to express their appreciation for all the love they've been given. They just want to give back to those that have supported them.
They are the true stars here tonight that continue to support this community in Berklee's name and keep her star shining bright.
Thank you again to all. God bless and continue to be Berklee Strong!"
