The Chef was able to get twelve pounds of fresh opah fish, (also called moonfish), wild-caught from U.S. waters where sourcing is sustainably managed. Opah steaks look similar to salmon but compare in taste profile to swordfish or tuna. Chef wanted us to share because this is a rare treat and though he does not yet know how he will be preparing it, it will be available tomorrow night, June 5th, until it's gone!

This weekend is the 22nd annual McCloud Mushroom Festival, www.mccloudchamber.com/mushroomfestival. Celebrating the proliferation of wild mushroom hunting that occurs every spring in and around McCloud!
Visit us at The Dining Car at Jubilee Railroad all weekend as we celebrate our local festival with a wild mushroom dinner, live music Saturday & Sunday, and a free outdoor film (near sunset) on Friday night, that showcases the fantastically wild world of fungi!

Starting tonight we will have 25oz bone-in ribeye as our butcher's cut! Our beef is local, from the Jenner family farm. Our other specials include halibut (we are taking advantage of halibut season) and pozole. All of our specials come in limited quantities, so be sure to make a reservation.
