A little bit of an unconventional New Year’s Eve 2025 recap. You all (our clients) have become such a large part of our life, so here is a little year in review and life update.
If you had told me at the start of this year what was in store, I don’t think I would’ve believed you. This year has been the ultimate masterclass in resilience and gratitude.
On the business side, The Proper Pour has blown Zach and I away: 33 weddings and so many other special events in between. Being a part of your biggest days is something I never take for granted, and I’m so proud of how far this dream has come!
But behind the scenes of a busy wedding season, life threw us a major curveball. I was diagnosed with MS as I had my first major relapse and suffered from optic neuritis, losing my vision right in the middle of our busiest month. It was scary and exhausting (still is), but it taught me that I am much stronger than I thought I was.
Through it all, Zach has been where he needs to be when I need him there; he is an incredible husband, daddy, and, of course, co-owner. I’ve had to lean on him in all the ways, and I have watched him carry more than he deserves while we navigate this AND chase after our 3 year old son Shep when I've been too tired. I’ve had to realize that being a good mommy doesn't mean being a perfect one❤️
So, I've officially retired from stressing over the small stuff. The spotless car, the perfect yard, and the tidy house do not matter as much anymore. I’m choosing presence over perfection in 2026 because life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. I used to have a little sign that said that; I need to find it and hang it up!
To everyone who supported the business, checked in on us, and stood by us this year: thank you. We are heading into 2026 with a lot of gratitude, very clear intentions, and light hearts. I am healing, feeling well, and we look forward to serving you all in this New Year!
As always, cheers to a life well lived.
