It was a good run! Tonight the staff got together for one last time. It was a good night with memories shared and new plans set, even a tear or two shed. The boxcar will be missed.
I personally want to thank all the staff we have had over the years. We have had many a good crew and the last one was absolutely the best, shout out to Hannah P (our longest employee) came to use just a but over 21 in the beginning had never bartended and jumped right in the night I hired her to help. Also then Jeff and Brenda Rice have been nothing but great to allow us to operate the way we knew would be best. And to my wife Tara for everything she has done from getting us started, setting our first menus and making the final cake, love you so much! And finally to all our patrons over the years you have been great. I sent messages out to our insiders and mc last week here is a note I will end it on from our ambassador Rev Joel (aka Joels Coal, Aka PA Coal). Boxcar will be missed but we go On to the next chapter!
Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to say a loud THANK YOU to Framps and the Boxcar Team for providing a space unlike any other! Our family and friends celebrated everything from birthdays and anniversaries to holidays and everyday life.
Boxcar was so much more than a brewery and tap room, it was part of the fabric of our community. I met so many new friends and deepened countless relationships with old ones. All, including our furry friends, were always welcome at B*W.
And then there was the product, which was so much more than beer! But the beer was just something special, including the small batches created for special occasions.
Boxcar was, simply put, something special. John provided something incredibly unique, unlike anything ever created. This closing creates a cultural absence, a gap in the fabric of who we all became when we all gathered at this most special space. This is, no doubt, the passing of an era, reminding us all just how quickly our shared traditions can slip away.
If only the walls of those train cars could talk, we would learn of countless stories, laughter, tears and connections that can’t be opened elsewhere.
But we do not look back, but rather forward, as Framps creates yet another space where we can once again experience life in a most unique way! Well done Brother and blessings on this next chapter!
Joel
