After 38 unforgettable years, Guadalahonkys will be closing our doors on July 26th.
When Alan and Kristine Summerhays opened Guadalahonkys in 1988, Draper was still a quiet farm town and most people thought they were crazy to start a restaurant here. But thanks to the incredible support of this community, what started as a wild dream became a beloved, family-run gathering place for nearly four decades.
Over the years, Guadalahonkys grew into something much more than just a restaurant. It became a second family and home, a place filled with laughter, milestones, and memories shared by generations. We’ve had the honor of celebrating birthdays, first dates, reunions, and everyday dinners with the people who became like family to us.
We owe everything to our loyal customers, our dedicated employees, and our community. Your support, friendship, and love helped us keep our doors open through thick and thin. To our staff, past and present, thank you for pouring your hearts into every shift. You’ve been the soul of this place.
Between now and our final day on July 26th, we invite you to come celebrate with us, or even cry as I know we will be too. Come have a chile verde burrito, share a memory, have a few laughs, and honor the people who made Guadalahonkys so special.
Thank you, Draper. We love you and we always will.
