MARK YOUR CALANDERS! A special Full Moon is coming on May 1, 2026!
ππΈ
This one is known as the Micro Flower Moon the smallest full moon of the year. Why? Because the Moon will be at its farthest distance from Earth (apogee), making it appear slightly smaller and a bit dimmer than usual.
But donβt expect a huge visual difference to the human eye, it will still look bright, full, and beautiful in the night sky.
Even though it looks almost the same, thereβs a small scientific twist: the ocean tides during this time are a little weaker than usual compared to other full moons.
πΈ The name Flower Moon comes from the season, as flowers bloom everywhere in May, symbolizing growth and new beginnings. Different cultures also call it the Planting Moon or Budding Moon.
Clear Skies Everyone! π
