MARK YOUR CALANDERS! A special Full Moon is coming on May 1, 2026!
🌕🌸

This one is known as the Micro Flower Moon the smallest full moon of the year. Why? Because the Moon will be at its farthest distance from Earth (apogee), making it appear slightly smaller and a bit dimmer than usual.
But don’t expect a huge visual difference to the human eye, it will still look bright, full, and beautiful in the night sky.

Even though it looks almost the same, there’s a small scientific twist: the ocean tides during this time are a little weaker than usual compared to other full moons.

🌸 The name Flower Moon comes from the season, as flowers bloom everywhere in May, symbolizing growth and new beginnings. Different cultures also call it the Planting Moon or Budding Moon.

This year, over 115 caring individuals, Student Ambassadors, groups, and companies stepped up to host clothing and toiletry drives for children in need, and the results have been incredible.

Every item collected helped a child in need feel confident in 2025. From fresh-smelling shampoo to warm winter coats, each drive was a powerful reminder that our community cares.

A couple of weeks ago, we shined a sparkly sisterly spotlight on our Founder and two of our Co-Founders. Today, we are thrilled to showcase two more Co-Founders: Lynne Baril and Laura Bisson! ✨

Lynne and Laura have been huge parts of Catie's Closet since our beginning, from setting up the first Closet to celebrating our 15th year. 💚

Laura created the first gala in 2012 and remains a vital part of our Gala Committee today, making each one more special every year. Lynne has been a champion for gala volunteers, coordinating all volunteer efforts and ensuring a smooth night from start to finish. 👏💪

Both Lynne and Laura serve on our Board of Directors to continue the mission they helped start!
