Carlucci Restaurant in Downers Grove Will Be Passing The Torch To A New Tenant After 15 Years
Last Day of Service Is February 18th
DOWNERS GROVE, IL – February 12, 2018 – Joe Carlucci, Proprietor and Founder of Carlucci Restaurant in Downers Grove, today announced that after 15 consecutive years, he has sold his restaurant to a much respected and recognized brand. The restaurant’s last day of service will be Sunday, February 18, 2018.
“I’d like to express a heartfelt thank-you to all of the people who’ve helped make Carlucci a success for so many years,” says Carlucci. “I welcome the new property owner with open arms – I believe that they will have great success at our location. I regret closing the doors on such short notice, but the offer was something that I needed to move very quickly on.”
The first Carlucci Restaurant opened on Halsted Street in Chicago 30 years ago, and some of the brand’s original employees came to work at the Downer’s Grove location after it opened.
Carlucci went on to say, “I want to thank my loyal employees – people like Chef Jonny Hart, General Manager Sharon Borkowicz and servers like Carlos Magańa, Arturo Manzanarez and Arturo Perez have helped make Carlucci a west suburban staple. Importantly, I also want to thank all of the hundreds and thousands of guests that were part of the Carlucci family. I will also miss working with the local charities, business leaders and hoteliers with whom I’ve developed close personal relationships.”
The last week’s menu will include Carlucci customers’ all-time favorite pastas over the last 30 years, including:
Linguini Bombonato – “a Carlucci original” made with linguini, prosciutto, fresh basil, tossed table side in a Parmesan cheese wheel
Orecchiette – “little ears” pasta, sausage fennel ragu, baby spinach and tomato cream sauce
Radiatori – radiator shaped pasta, grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, broccolini, garlic cream sauce
The restaurant also invites guest to stop in for a farewell drink, as house wines will be $5 all week long.
