🚜 🍇 Gibbs Vineyards represents exactly what we are so much about: representing real people making real wine. They are 3rd generation grape farmers and winemakers nestled into the northeast corner of the Napa Valley. The wines are modest and approachable just like the people who make them. I dare you to find a better priced, independent, real wine from Napa.
🍷 Gibbs “Three Clones” Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyards: 100% estate fruit from two vineyards:
•Estate Vineyard (Silverado Trail):
•Cross Creek Vineyard (Pratt Valley): A tiny sub-valley at the base of Howell Mountain as you come down to the valley floor. This includes the Baronne Chabot vineyard planted by Spencer Gibbs’ grandfather in the 1950s, along with the 100-acre Arch Estate across from them.
Clones: Clone 15, Clone 337, and one other clone (they actually grow 4 clones but one has been contracted out for 30 years)
Blend: 90-94% Cabernet Sauvignon, with a touch of Merlot (5-6%)
Barrels: 18-22 months in French oak
Winemaking Philosophy: This is made to be something you can open the night you take it home. It still has structure, tannin, and complexity—you know you’re drinking Napa Cabernet—but it’s approachable. The touch of Merlot softens it without sacrificing character.
