The man. The myth. The legend. The Mayor of Grand Detour. ❤️

Catalina’s lost another one of our legends today — Weaver.

If you knew Weaver, you knew. He was one of a kind, and there will never be another quite like him.

Give that man a jukebox and you could pretty much count on hearing Toby Keith’s “Red Solo Cup,” a little David Allan Coe, and of course “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor.” 😂 Those songs will forever make us think of him, and he wanted you to know, “ I played this”.

For years, the ongoing joke around here was that Weaver was the Mayor of Grand Detour — a title he wore pretty damn well.

Weaver was more than a customer. He was part of the character, the stories, the laughter and the history of this old tavern.

Rest easy, Weaver. 🍻

It is with heavy hearts that we say see ya later to a longtime friend and member of the Catalina’s family, Lester.

Lester had been coming to Catalina’s since he was just a kid, when he would come in with his dad. Over the years, he became one of those familiar faces that simply felt like part of the place. You could always count on seeing Lester with an Old Style in hand and a friendly face at the bar.

When someone has been part of a place for that many years, their absence is felt.

Our thoughts are with Lester’s family and everyone who knew and loved him. We’ll miss you, Lester. There will always be an Old Style waiting for you at Catalina’s. ❤️🍺

Lester & Gay have a lot of catching up to do.
