We got a call this morning that a vehicle fell through thin ice on the east end of the railroad bed crossing the lake that is covered in shallow water in Pelican Lake. Sun and moving water had deteriorated the ice. Was able to get it back on good ice and drive it to shore.

Stocked up on treated ice melt just in time for rain instead of snow in December.

Probably float the next one to shore with airbags after ice out. Getting pretty sketchy especially in the afternoons. This one got stuck under a lower level of good ice and needed to be lifted out.

Everyone is fine, the season end is near. Unfortunately a lot of anglers are not aware of the location of culverts.

Nothing can be easy, not much to hook to on these. Strut was already busted from impact. Victim of a sand bar on North 6 mile Bay. He fine, just shortened his fishing trip.

Dealer told him he could go on and off ice with the special cleated tracks. Sounded like they sunk it trying to get it out. As always, be kind, I will delete comments.

In case you’re wondering if there’s a pressure ridge on Morrison Lake there is. USGS was doing their annual testing and inspections and found out the hard way. Walked over 2 miles in zero visibility today following their tracks back to the vehicles.
