💥 It’s official, Detroit.

Hour Detroit readers named us, , Best New Restaurant in ’s Best of Detroit. Reader voted, straight from y’all, and we’re floored.

A few months ago this was a 14,000 square foot idea in Eastern Market. Today it’s the only restaurant we know of sitting above a fully functioning butcher shop and state of the art processing facility, where the meat on your plate is broken down in the same building, just below the dining room.

This one belongs to the whole house: the butchers downstairs, Chef Noelle Prater and the kitchen, the pastry team, the bartenders, the hosts, and everyone running plates and washing dishes long after the last table clears.

It reaches past these walls too, to the farmers across the region we source from and the vendors just steps away in Eastern Market. Thank you for the nominations, the votes, and for showing up since the day we opened the doors. Eastern Market, Detroit, none of this happens without you.

Marrow Smashburger and Nashville Chicken sliders, beef negimaki skewers, walleye fish and chips with house tallow chips, fried pickles with Kerch Sauce, spinach artichoke dip in a cast iron, and more…

Looking forward to celebrating with all the moms today >> Chef Noelle and the crew have got a few very special dishes she’s bringing to the table for today’s brunch menu:

Soft-Shell Crab and Grits Sauce creole, pickled fresno chile

Toad in a Hole 6-minute egg, avocado hollandaise, arugula, manchego, shaved apple, scallion (lobster add-on available)

Whipped Ricotta and Brown Butter Toast Fried sage, hot honey, smoked farmer’s mushroom

Shrimp Toast
House brioche, hot hoisin, lemongrass basil aioli, panko-fried tiger salad

Brunch reservations are fully booked, but we’re taking limited walk-ins, 10am to 4pm.

💥 Starting TODAY >> Tuesday lunch is on at Eastern Market, y'all >> and yes, that means you can get the Smashburger for lunch today, too.

Every Tuesday in May, doors open at 10am with the full Butcher Shop menu running until 4pm. Roasted chicken with lemon glaze and peperonata, the roast beef sandwich, porchetta with giardiniera aioli and salsa verde, steak tips with black garlic jus, and the Smashburger >> all butchered and crafted in-house, sourced from our Great Lakes partners we know by name. And yeah, of course we've got veggie options too >> the grilled portabella sandwich and our spring salad with snap peas and dill whipped goat cheese.

Lunch is served Tuesday through Sunday at the Butcher Shop and Butcher Bar. Weekend brunch served upstairs in the Capital Dining Room.
