It’s with a bit of whiplash that we can say it’s
time for August’s edition of Passionfruit!

Has the high vibration of summer got you in a tizzy? Have you sweat out more than you’ve taken in? Whatever state you’re in, Friday at our place is going to be a sweet suspension in nourishment.

Let’s start with the charity, because this one hits right to the heart. Every month our patio party supports a selected local charity & the work Freedom House has been doing for over FORTY YEARS is pivotal. Offering widespread services to assist and protect those fleeing their home countries, Freedom House is rooted in our community as a safe haven to those on their paths to safety, security & freedom.

Musically, what a treat.
Its impossible not to love Terri & we’re always thrilled to have her selecting the sounds for our evening. An honor really. Terri shapes time with great moments of disco, house & far reaching gems from her extensive collection. We don’t have to tell you to keep it locked, she does it for you.

So Terri is on 8-11 but we really suggest you come early because we are welcoming Michael S to the decks 5-8. A man of fine taste & elegant transition. Peep the set of his we linked in our bio ~ smooth with just the right amount of bounce & a little bit of grit.

We have a sexy new wok designed and manufactured for us specifically in Bangkok & the farm is harvesting some highly specific herbs and peppers that you won’t find anywhere else. Come see how these entities all swirl together into some high summer magic.

🚀 We have the thrill of firing up this month’s Passionfruit with MEFTAH at the helm. 6 hours of whatever treasures the homie chooses the shape the evening with : hip hop, house, soul, jazz, you name it… we’re going there. Last years marathon set was expansive & exciting. We couldn’t wait to invite him back. ✨

🍜 Chef Brad will be posted up on the patio (the big guy likes to vibe as much as the rest of us) making whatever his pleasure. ☺️

🍹The bar is feeling a touch tiki atm and has dialed in a DELICIOUS tequila, pineapple, pandan concoction with a bit of coffee that all play so well together. Also on site you can hear whisperings of Emma Randall ‘s triumphant return to us in the form of a sweet & salty honey lemonade flexing that Detroit City Distillery muscle.

🎨 This month’s event supports the mission of an important local charity working to make artistic exploration & education accessible for all Detroit’s youth, Living Arts.

Spring has sprung and we are tickled pink to announce our first patio party of the season~
May 15th it’s a FUNK NIGHT TAKEOVER!

One of our favorite labels period, label founder Frank Raines & his old school homie DJ Head will be setting the tone for an evening of deep grooves, expansive psychedelic jams, sexy flute solos & musings informed by early hip hop.

Chef Brad & Co are dusting off the charcoal fired woks and making noodles for the people, always a treat to have the boss at the helm.

Special drinks al fresco, vibes a plenty, come welcome the season with us the only way we know how.

We’ve debuted a new laap & this is a DO-NOT-MISS!

Sustainably sourced rainbow trout coming straight from the best ~> . We cure & smoke the fish before service, then flake it & cook the tender morsels in the wok with fish bone stock & an aromatic paste of galangal, shallot & garlic upon order.

In traditional Isaan laap fashion, we build the dish from here with lemongrass, Vietnamese coriander, cilantro, sawtooth, shallot, roasted dry chili, toasted rice power & lime juice. Topped with a beautiful segment of dried, crisped fish skin. COME ON!

Wrap it up in bibb & munch the cukes in between.
What a joy. 😌
