Benny Golson was a true giant in the world of jazz. And I feel incredibly blessed to have met him a few years ago. Known not only for his immense talent as a saxophonist but also as one of the great composers and arrangers in Jazz, Golson embodied grace, wisdom, and a relentless commitment to his craft. His compositions like "Killer Joe" and "I Remember Clifford" left an indelible mark on Jazz history. To have met him is to have touched a living piece of Jazz's golden era, a time where music carried a profound sense of innovation and soul. His passing marks the end of an era, but his legacy will continue to inspire and resonate within the jazz community and beyond. Meeting him was a moment I'll always treasure, a connection to a musical genius whose influence will never fade.
