Only a bit over a week into the new year but not without a complete side eye!! 😒 2021 is off to a rough start but I'm optimistic. 🙏🏾 Last year was one of the most emotionally taxing years ever! Never did I think it wldve ended with me having a picture of my mom on a T-shirt. 😞 Unfortunately, too many of us have this same story to tell. The loss was just too much. Whether it was C-Vid, Cancer or anything else, 2020 just kept happening to us! 😒 But we survived! 🙌🏾💪🏾

Sending love and light to those who need it most right now. ✨✨ Just because it's a new year doesn't mean old pain and problems don't persist. It's a laaahtt going on! You never know what silent battles ppl are fighting so, be kind. Try to stay positive and always count your blessings.🙏🏾

One thing they do say is "Time heals all wounds". Not sure how true that is but if you need more time, take it! 💛 Process, then move fwd. Finally got this thang up... and while it might seem unlikely that I'd post this on today, for me it's actually befitting.

I'm grateful...so thankful for her. Having recently "celebrated" my birthday and now going into the Holidays for the first time, without my mom here in the physical, this is a reflection. A reality check. A reminder that she's gone. And although the pain of her passing still sits in my heart, there is also an abundance of gratitude that shares that same space. Filling all the cracks that remain from being broken into a million pieces. I miss her more than I ever imagined I could miss anyone in life...dearly and deeply. In five months, not a day has passed for me that a tear hasn't fallen. But even through my grief I understand how extremely blessed I am to have had my mom for the time that I did. For us to have had the time we had together as family, as business partners and as friends. I'll always honor her.

With that being said, today I remain full of gratitude. Each day I'll count my blessings and continue trusting that every new day I am blessed with brings me closer to gaining more peace and understanding, through the grace of God.

My birthday last year, 11/08/19.❤ The time before the last time she was out at work with me.🎶🎵 Pretty sure she left early with Autumn and told me to hurry right hm afterwards🏃🏾to begin my nightly nurse duties! Of course she affectionately called me Nurse Ratched. 😄

She had already stopped coming to work due to ppl asking abt her weight loss, etc., so this was really a cameo. We did one private gig together after that. Both of us were beat by this time, managing her "secret illness". Tired and scared as hell but keeping it positive.🙏🏾 She stayed home and focused on trying to get well. I held down Fort.💪🏽

Although people were asking me questions, they never really got answers. My reply to everything wld usually be "give her a call"! Then she'd either confide in them or not. 🤷🏽 It was her info to share and I respected that. 💯

I do know that she missed everyone but she didn't want anyone to worry about her or to be sad about her situation. She didn't wanna be sad about it. Mom was a soldier like that.💜 High spirits and high hopes we had. All we knew was we'd get over this and she'd be back like she never left! That was the plan...🥀💔 Never did I ever wanna think I'd lose my baby. 😢 I miss her so much.
