We would like to just remind everyone that lives in the Beaverdale neighborhood how important it is to support this amazing community. We think Beaverdale is an absolute gem and a wonderful community but we are also watching wonderful restaurants close. Basic bird is up for sale,MST just closed it doors today, The Parlor has been up for sale. We are not sure if it still is. We know it may not seem like it makes a huge difference, but leaving the neighborhood to go someplace for lunch or dinner it apparently does. So go to Christopher‘s for dinner get the coffee from celebrations instead of Starbucks head to Beaver tap for lunch instead of someplace in West Des Moines. Get your pizza from Michael’s instead of delivery instead of ordering that book off Amazon go to Beaverdale books. The list goes on and on. And I don’t want to get into a political debate on this so please don’t leave comments in regards to that. We own three restaurants. We are well aware of prices and so on. We send our staff over to Ace Hardware to get most of the things we can and fairway when we know that if we sent them to Walmart or Home Depot, it would save us money a lot of the time, but that would not support the neighborhood we are in. All we are suggesting is if you don’t think staying locally, more makes a difference then look at the restaurants that are closing and the businesses in your area. (This is not a lecture but a reminder for us ALL! To help stay local and support each other.) We all want to thrive and make this neighborhood a destination spot for all the businesses and every business that closes is truly so sad for everyone!
