I lost my first dog, my sweet boy Turk, just a few weeks ago. Turk was the inspiration for The Bark Bar. Taking him to the dog park opened up a whole new world for me - the world of simple joy and presence that dogs embody. You see, I was a late bloomer, at least in dog lover terms. Now I'm the crazy dog lady. Go figure.
So now there is an 80 lb white furry hole in my life. My daily routine suddenly feels strange and empty in spots. Coming home can be tricky. Getting his ashes back was a gut punch and left me down for the count for an entire day.
But one thing that became blindingly apparent to me even before his final day was that I have such an amazing community surrounding me, full of animal lovers who get it, who are fully supporting me throughout this difficult journey. That's not always everybody's experience, and losing a pet can be even more devastating and isolating without that support.
These days, I'm a professional coach who helps others process and move through the tough stuff in their lives. That training has helped me enormously during this experience. And losing Turk has awakened a HUGE calling on my heart - offering support to those who may need it during their own difficult journey of saying goodbye to a beloved pet.
If this is you or someone you know, PLEASE share this with them. Support is available. You don't have to do this alone. I'm offering a deeply discounted package of 3 sessions for just $199 to help people:
- make the often gut-wrenching decision of the right time to say goodbye
- process the grief and sadness
- create comforting ways to honor, remember and celebrate your beloved pet
- move through and move forward
- experience the both/and... the grief AND the joy
I get it. This is hard. It sucks. And it's ok to need help. Just click on the link below to schedule a 15 minute complimentary call. No sales tactics, no pitch, just an offer of loving support.
