A Christmas Malt 🎄🌟 Top secret, last minute Christmas Whisky 🥃 tasting 🔜 TOMORROW (yeah like 12/17) starting at 6:30pm. Although poorly planned and not at all promoted, it’ll be a blast for all four of us there. 6 seasonally selected whiskies will be available $12 per dram. Come one come 5 or six. Before disclosing the 3 holiday 🎄🎁🎅🕎Whiskies for our final event of the year on Monday there is the matter of the open bottle stock from this year’s events that will also be available. There are 10 rare and wonderful bottles that were left unfinished, to our collective shame. But no matter, on the 12th we can right this wrong. You get to pick a couple drams from these orphans and reminisce about the year and the beautiful whisky and the conversations they sparked. One problem however; which two to pick? Here’s the list:

Join us Bierstadt Lagerhaus on December 12th at 6:00pm for . Holiday Whisky. Glorious, blended for the season, exceeding rare, impossible to purchase, phenomenal whisky. Yeah it's a Monday but everyone already knows that nothing gets done in December anyways. With these amazing holiday drams we also have several bottles of whisky to drink from previous events of 2022 that, despite best efforts, did not get finished; lame and perplexing, but it will give attendees another shot at their favorites from this year.
The event is $75 and includes a welcome Scotch and Soda-as always-and three holiday specific drams and a choice of two more drams from the open bottles from the previous year’s events. Light snacks will be provided as well courtesy of Anthony Loppicolo of Goed Zuur Jackets required but for this event holiday sweaters-ugly or not-are acceptable as well.

Jacket requirement waived for tonights 4 Peats Sake at Bierstadt Lagerhaus at 6pm due to it being too damn hot. Still a couple tickets remain-like 3.

The food pairings for our event Monday night - 4 Peats Sake at Bierstadt Lagerhaus are in and as expected, sound amazing. Thanks again to the immensely talented Anthony Loppicolo and the crew at Goed Zuur. 1️⃣First course: Cabbage. fried potatoes. charcuterie bits. carrot. smoked bone broth.
Paired with Kilkerran Heavily Peated

2️⃣Second course: “Prairie Breeze”(Iowa Amish Cheddar). honey poached pickled mustard seed. blueberry pistachio.
Paired with Single Malts of Scotland cask strength Caol Ila 10 year old

3️⃣Third course: Lamb belly. ouray corn. palisade peach. wakame salt.
Paired with Old Particular Ardmore 16 year old

4️⃣Last course: Lemongrass Caramel Ice Cream.
Paired with Single Malts of Scotland, Directors Special, cask strength Laphroaig 22 year old

The last that we will be serving at our event on September 5th at Bierstadt Lagerhaus is this 🥃 Single Malts of Scotland, Director’s Special, Cask Strength, Laphroaig 22 year old. I am very excited to try this bottle. I’ve never had a dram from a $1000 bottle 💰🤯. In any case it’ll probably cure any case of the Mondays that might still be lingering from the day. And while price and age are never guarantees of quality, this bottle has online reviews that claim it might be the missing key to world peace 🗝🌎☮️🤷‍♂️. It might just be epic. I’m sure Anthony from Goed Zuur is up to the task of pairing something magical with it. Don’t forget your 🧥 jacket-this time it’ll only be waived above 85degrees. Still a few tickets left. Just back from Scotland, and I love Ardmore Whisky so much I brought three different independent Ardmore bottlings back in my luggage. For the upcoming tasting we already had this gem picked out. This Ardmore 16 year old is fruity, smokey, and pretty much perfect; not to mention almost impossible to get ahold of. Now-come have it at the 4 Peat’s Sake event on the 5th at Bierstadt Lagerhaus with 3 other offerings plus food from Goed Zuur. (Event Link in Comments)

Last Night’s SPEYWATCH tasting was 🔥🔥Goed Zuur killed the pairings (so much in fact we forgot to take a picture of the second plate and the A.D. Rattray Glen Elgin 18 before we consumed it 🤷‍♂️) Next event at Bierstadt Lagerhaus will delight all the folks out there with an Islay tasting in Early September - stay tuned.
