It is with the heaviest of hearts that I let you all know about the passing of one of our teammates, Joe "Mr. Smooth" Williams. He was more than just a teammate to us; he was a very dear friend. He loved the game of pool, but more than that, he loved the comradery. Anyone who met Joe walked away with a new friend and a big smile on their face. The first session he was with our team, he gave me an 8 ball duck, and that became my pocket marker. It has brought me luck, but more importantly, it reminds me of his neverending spirit, joy, and love of the game. Joe always gave 110%, even when he was having a rough night. He never gave up. When I would have a rough night, he'd come over to me and say, "It's ok, Coach, it's just one night. You'll get it next week." He had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. He was the heart and soul of our team, and we, the Chalkoholics, will miss him more than words could ever say. I'm sure that he and Shane Sites are up there right now, shooting 8 ball and drinking a beer.
Please keep his family in your prayers.
We play for Joe.
God speed, my friend. I love you, and I am so blessed to have called you my friend.
