At the same time, the musicians that play at Churchill Grounds play their own original compositions, and introduce you to the classics being created today. America's only true native art form - Jazz Music exemplifies our commitment to this cause. There is no other form of music that embodies the sophistication, eloquence, passion, spontaneity and emotion that jazz communicates to its' audience. At Churchill Grounds we seek out only the most dedicated and talented jazz musicians to help maintain Jazz as a forefront in modern music. Our commitment to this art form is not only to accomplished jazz musicians such as Cedar Walton, Freddie Cole, Loston Harris, Chico Freeman, Donald Harrison, Marcus Printup, Philip Harper and Russell Gunn, but also to its' growth and future by locally searching for the next Wynton Marsalis, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington or Louis Armstrong. Churchill Grounds is open to the public, and the music is underway!

Join us October 11–17 for another week of live jazz in Downtown Decatur, featuring some of Atlanta’s finest musicians. Enjoy a full dinner menu and bar service from Clave by Mojitos throughout the evening.

Last night at Churchill Grounds…
The EAV Trio with Larry Wilson brought a little East Atlanta history with them to Decatur.

And judging by Mike Walton absolutely scorching it on sax last night, they also brought all the fire reminiscent of Coltrane, Miles, Bird, Morgan, Blakey and every cat of that caliber. They swing every Monday at Churchill Grounds.

Trio Jockamo takes the stage with David Ellington on our Hammond A100, Darren Stanley on drums, and Will Scruggs, founder of the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Center, on saxophone and vocals.

New Orleans standards, original compositions and odd-meter jazz. This should be a fun one.

Churchill Grounds is open. And yes, we mean open to everyone.

Beginning October 1, the doors are open to the public, and we’ve got a full weekend of live jazz lined up.

To welcome Atlanta and our new Decatur neighbors to the new Churchill Grounds, we’re offering special Introductory Welcome Pricing on select shows, including $25 tickets Thursday and Saturday.
