Call of The Tropics: A Celebration of Tiki July 6-21, 2012 - A Celebration of Tiki Art, Music & Mid-Century Culture All events are free and open to the public.

Call of the Tropics opens on Friday, July 6 with a Tiki block party in Dayton's Oregon District featuring artists, surf and rockabilly bands, hot rods, Tiki carvers, fire dancers, vendors and a cash bar with tropical cocktails. The opening party will be a highlight of the many “First Friday” events happening that night in Dayton’s Oregon Arts District. Call of the Tropics features a Tiki art group

show July 6-21 at the Color of Energy Gallery, 16 Brown Stree in Dayton. There also is charity raffle for artist collectibles, with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit SICSA. Event schedule

July 6 - Tiki block party in the Oregon District
5 pm: Cherry Lee and the Daddy Katz
6:15 pm: Team Void
7:30 pm: Crazy Joe and the Mad River Outlaws
8:45 pm: Soul Fyre Productions
9:10 pm: The Nick Kizirnis Band

July 14
Exotica DJ Jeff Chenault at the Color of Energy Gallery. 7 pm

July 21
Hawaiian vocalist and slack key guitarist Francis Llacuna at the Color of Energy Gallery. Special guest speaker the Honorable Dan Gehres. 7 pm
