As an owner-operated business, our weekends are wonderfully spent pouring our wines in the tasting room, and our weekdays are spent making the wines. A peek into life behind the barrels.

We are open!

At long last, the doors to the Satyr Fire Tasting Room have opened. What was once an idea shared over late nights and long harvests is now a place to gather, celebrate, and raise a glass together.

Join us this weekend for tastings, summer cocktails, charcuterie, and wines from across our cellar. Come see what we’ve been building. Come revel with us.

Thursday & Monday | 12 PM – 6 PM
Friday–Sunday | 10 AM–8 PM

Reservations are encouraged through the link in our bio. We can’t wait to welcome you.

A large part of our mission is to showcase the diversity of white wine from the Willamette Valley, and naturally that journey has taken us into the realm of sparkling wine. It felt less like a project and more like a calling. Caged Sun began as a barrel selection from our cellar— 100% Riesling from three distinct vineyards and four individual barrels, chosen for their energy and tension. After six months resting in barrel, it was bottled for triage and spent another eighteen months en tirage, quietly becoming something altogether different.

It was disgorged in March and released for the first time this past weekend. We are now pouring Caged Sun again this coming weekend at the Den. Come experience the radiance with us while it lasts!

Over 12 months ago we started looking at this property. Last November we were on our annual post harvest coast trip when we signed the lease. Venturing into this phase of our business has been exhilarating and scary but the relief and joy we feel now is indescribably rewarding as we open wide the doors. We think we’ve created a space where many fond memories will be made.

Exciting news from Satyr Fire
After five incredible years working alongside owner, designer, and furniture maker Justin Nelson at Fernweh Woodworking, Barbara Romaine is officially joining the Satyr Fire team.
Bringing with her the many motivations, lessons, and creative instincts she cultivated during her years at Fernweh, Barbara is excited to step into this new chapter working alongside her husband and helping shape the evolving world of Satyr Fire and Satyr’s Den in Dayton. Together, they hope to create a space where magic, art, hospitality, and wine collide.
Her role will span creative direction through video and photography, hosting unforgettable dinners and parties, managing logistics, administration, and compliance, spending Thursdays solo behind the bar — and, of course, taking on all the dirty work Paul doesn’t want to do.
From furniture and interiors to wine and hospitality, this transition feels like a natural evolution rooted in storytelling, atmosphere, and creating experiences that bring people together.
We are beyond excited for what’s ahead.
