Blue Taco is a restaurant and event space. We are currently hiring kitchen staff for full and part-time work. Our legendary format and festive dining ambiance is an incredibly unique experience unlike anything else in the country. A service first mentality and a passion for hospitality are required. JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be responsible for preparation of food items for each shift and assist in meal prep during shifts. You will learn to prepare each item on the menu, and ensure that all items are consistently presented in accordance with menu item specificatons and quality standards. You will assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, reach-in coolers, and storage areas. You will ensure that food is properly stored, in accordance with time and temperature guidelines as set forth in the Food Code. You will assist in the day to day culinary operations of the kitchen, and perform any additional responsibilities as requested by the Executive Chef.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Professional knife skills.
Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, work quickly, efficiently, and effectively, and stay focused under pressure.
Professional communication skills required.
Understanding of basic kitchen sanitation and food safety practices a must. Food Safety Manager Certification preferred.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods of time.
