For women especially, generating the same break speed as a bigger or stronger player can be challenging, which makes good break technique even more important than brute strength.
Start with a break cue or a heavier house cue. Keep your eyes focused on the first object ball in the rack, commit to the shot, and most importantly, stroke all the way through the cue ball. Don’t stop your cue at impact. A strong follow-through helps transfer more speed and power into the cue ball and ultimately into the rack.
You don’t have to be the strongest person in the pool room to improve your break. Better technique, a solid stance, a smooth stroke, and a committed follow-through can help you break harder and spread the balls better in 8-ball or 9-ball.
