As temperatures drop dangerously low throughout much of the U.S. tonight, and persisting for days, you must have a plan in place to keep these animals warm and safe.

Make sure everyone has shelter from freezing temperatures, wind chill and ice, and be aware of other hazards that can harm animals such as rock salt and antifreeze.

Please bring your dogs inside.

We are facing a prolonged winter storm with well over 100 hours of below-freezing temperatures ahead. This isn’t a cold snap…this is dangerous, life-threatening weather for animals.

Dogs and cats cannot survive prolonged exposure to these temperatures without a heated, dry, indoor place to stay warm. Straw, blankets, dog houses, or “they’ll be fine” are not enough when temperatures stay this low for this long.

Hypothermia and frostbite happen quickly. Suffering happens silently.

If you love them…bring them inside.
If you can’t bring them inside…reach out for help.
If you see animals left outdoors in these conditions…say something.

We will never judge someone for asking for help.
We will speak up for the animals who cannot.

Please choose compassion. Please choose warmth.
Bring them in.

On Jan 02, 2026, a sad day began for a sweet dog named Britney. She was put into an animal control van. Her tail did not wag and her eyes looked tired and confused.

Her family was moving to a house where pets were not allowed, so they had to say goodbye. They tried to explain, but Britney could not understand. She only felt that she was being left behind.

At the shelter, Britney became very quiet. She ate very little and stayed curled up in a corner, waiting for her family to come back. They never did.

The shelter staff noticed her sadness, and the volunteers gave her extra care and love, hoping her life would change.

Soon, Britney’s story was shared online, and many people felt her pain. One of them was a kind woman named Tina. When she saw Britney’s photo, she felt a strong connection and said, “She belongs with me.”

Just a day later, Tina came to the shelter. She sat down next to Britney and softly reached out her hand. For the first time in many days, Britney looked up and wagged her tail.

Today, Britney has a warm bed, a big yard to play in, and a family who truly loves her. She runs, plays, and sleeps peacefully, knowing she is safe and wanted.

Britney’s story reminds us that even after sadness, a happy ending is always possible. ❤️
