MEET MY FRIEND DEWEY!!! If You Have Followed This Page on My Last Thru Hike in 2023, You Have Already Seen Me Talk About Him Before. Dewey is The Owner of Dewey's Public in Dalton. I Walked In at Closing a Few Years Ago. The Bartender Said They Were Closed But, Dewey Said That If I Was Just Having a Beer, I Could Stay...So, I Got a Practice Beer and Watched Dewey Lock The Doors...and Then The Shots Came Out and More Beers... Apparently Closing at Dewey's Didn't Mean The Same Thing as Closing Anywhere Else...It Was A Good Time!! Unforgettable!!!... With a Memory Like That, I Was Crushed to Hear That Dewey Was Forced to Close the Public House So He Could Focus on His Health... Yesterday, I Walked Past and Stopped in Front to Take a Photo of The Building ...At that Very Moment, Dewey Walked Outside. He Was Shocked to See Me. I Was Shocked To See Him...So We Went Inside and Took a Few Shots of Gin Purely For Medical Reasons. Shock.Can Be Bad If Not Treated. The Therapeutic Gin Helped Greatly...and Then We Were On an Adventure!!! A Stop at Porta Via and Then Onto Plunkett Resevoir For a Late Night Boat Ride and a Six Pack of Game Beers... WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT!!! IT WAS SERENDIPITOUS... It's Was Awesome and It Was Proof of What I Love Most About These Hiking Adventures... Chance Meetings With Strangers Turn Into Life Long Friendships... It's All LOVE out Here In The Real World and I'm All For It!!!
