Judges' Selection medals represent the best wine in each category of the TEXSOM Awards. This week we're spotlighting more of our White Wine 2026 honorees — the bottles that surprised and stunned our judges! Here's what they had to say:

🍾 Soalheiro Alvarinho — Stunning and exotic. Blossom, floral, peach, and apricot. Crisp acidity balanced by a hint of delicious sweetness. Very long finish.
🍾 Hilmy Cellars Marsanne — Oak perfectly integrated. Silky, textural, regal, and elegant. Beautiful herbal and chamomile varietal character with a lovely bitter finish.
🍾 Alpha Estate Malagouzia — Stunning. Candied ginger, white flower, crushed rose petal. Salty, sweet, mineral. Everything working together beautifully.
🍾 French Valley Vineyard Vignoles — Waxy, lemon herb, Asian pear, honeycrisp apple. Electric acidity that gives life and yumminess. Hybrid excellence.
🍾 Robller Vineyard Hillside Blanc — Waxy, flinty, savory. Underlying minerality that surprises. A really elegant mix of fruit with electric texture.
🍾 Verterra Winery Gewürztraminer — Classic Gewürztraminer without being overboard. Turkish delight, peaches and roses, silky. Delicate interplay of ginger and fresh white flower.

Congratulations to the Judges' Selection White Wine winners! 🧡

Our 2026 TEXSOM Awards Judges' Selection winners keep coming!

This week, we're spotlighting part one of our White Wine varietal honorees! Judges' Selection medals represent the best wine in each category.

Here's what our judges had to say:
🍾 Cape Mentelle Chardonnay — Cappuccino foam, limy acidity, flinty oak toast. Long, distinctive, ready to drink.
🍾 Framingham Sauvignon Blanc — Elegant and restrained. Nutty, buttery toast, lime marmalade. A textbook example with potential to age.
🍾 Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier Riesling Spätlese — Classic honeycomb, petrol, luscious and silky. Sugar and acid balance, undefeated.
🍾 Adega Vinho Roussanne Reserve — Yellow stonefruit, creamy caramel, marzipan. Strategically done with a steely texture.
🍾 Loew Vineyards Chenin Blanc — Mandarin orange, honeysuckle. A love letter to the Loire.
🍾 Rove Winery Pinot Blanc — Delicate florals, fresh honeysuckle, peach and citrus peel. Well defined and finessed.

Congratulations to the Judges' Selection White Wine winners! 🧡

📣 It’s official! We’re announcing the results for the 2026 TEXSOM Awards, which took place March 22nd-25th, 2026. 🍾✨

TEXSOM Awards enlisted the expertise and wisdom of 19 judges from around the country and a professional production team to ensure accuracy and care for every beverage entered for evaluation. Together with your entries, we truly had the breadth of the beverage world represented. Of the entries judged, the judges awarded 850 medals: 46 Judges’ Selection medals, 48 Platinum medals, 121 Gold medals, 370 Silver medals, and 265 Bronze medals.

Beverages demonstrating quality and unique character that are exceptional even amongst their medal-winning peers may be nominated by judging panels for Judges’ Selection categories. A total of 94 entries received a Judges' Selection nomination and were elevated to Platinum medal. The Judges’ Selection nominees were submitted to head-to-head judging within expansive categories and 46 were awarded a Judges’ Selection medal and Best of Show as the highest award of the competition.

This year, TEXSOM Awards marked its 41st year of competitions and celebrated 11 years under the TEXSOM name. We appreciate you submitting entries for awards consideration and applaud your willingness to place your products on an international stage amongst some of the best in the world to be judged by some of the most discriminating and knowledgeable palates in our industry.

The complete Awards listing is available via the TEXSOM website.

“Here we learn to make what the grape gives us, not fitting the grape to place. What makes regions cool is diving into styles that are not status quo.”

During the polishing required to keep our Awards judging on track, our production team was treated to wines “hatched” from the Wine Incubator founded by John Rivenburgh and Rivenburgh Wines in Kerrville, Texas. The wineries that have benefited from this workspace have learned the ins and outs of growing wine in Texas, from vineyard management and production to construction and branding.

A big thank you to the wineries showcasing fun, interesting, and delicious wines from dark rosé Pinot Grigio to sparkling Cinsault, and much more, for our Production Team!
