The kitchen is fully operational. The entire menu is available. Thank you for your patience.

Due to some maintenance currently taking place in the kitchen, the menu will be limited to selected appetizers until 7. Full menu will resume at 7 pm. Thank you for your patience and keep on keeping on.

The response has been overwhelming.

The Lakewood burger is 80/20 beef and fat on a flat-top, best in Dallas five times over. The late-night corndog is off-menu

A message from Bill;

Lakewood Landing Family,

Figured it was time to come straight to the source instead of letting rumors, barstool medicine, or my charming good looks do all the talking.

Short version: Ten years of anti-rejection drugs have taken their toll and my kidneys are officially waving the white flag. We’re in late-stage failure territory, which means dialysis is knocking on the door and a transplant is the real long-term play.

Now for the important part—
I’m not afraid of dying. I’ve lived a hell of a life, met incredible people, built something I’m proud of, and poured a lot of whiskey along the way.

But I also want to live. And living, in this case, means finding a kidney donor.

If you don’t know how this works:

You can live a completely normal life with one kidney

Testing is straightforward and confidential.

You don’t have to be a perfect match to start the process.

I’m working with the transplant team at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and they’ll handle all the logistics, questions, and screening.

I know this is a big ask. It’s not lost on me.

If donating isn’t something you can do (totally understood), you can still help by:

Sharing this post

Talking about it

Pointing me toward someone who might be open to learning more

I’ll see you at the bar.

Appreciate all of you more than you know.
—Bill

Our beloved Otis quietly passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday. Otis was born in early 2011 and has been the Landing ambassador and mascot ever since. He spent his very early days running up and down the Landing bar top. Shortly after, Angus arrived and the pair became nightly fixtures at Landing. Otis was everybody’s best friend and lit up the room every time he arrived.

For a decade plus, the highlight of many a customer’s night was Otis’ balloon show. Bill would pull out a blue ballon with the Landing logo on it, blow it up and Otis would leap into the air and bounce the balloon off his nose around the bar until it would finally burst. The pop would immediately be followed by the applause of the delighted audience. Otis knew how to work the crowd. The Landing was his stage and he was the star.

Otis was one of a kind. Thank you for the memories. You will never be forgotten.
