Today I completed my 2,200 steps, 110 flights in memory of all who lost there lives on 911. To acknowledge the 343 firefighters, 71 police officers and 10 EMS responders and all the innocent people just going to work that day, 2,753 people that were taken from there families and loved ones. As I made my accent each day I thought to myself what could I do more for those who sacrificed to help to save others. Besides my Facebook donation page which I would like to personally thank all those who gave and motivated me to reach the top floor. On the final day It came to me like someone was whispering in my ear, to add one additional flight. I’m calling the stairway to heaven flight. On my last day with a 20lbs pack on my back, two bad knees and lower back issues, I just kept pushing. For many of us first responders the death toll keeps rising, the after effects still linger on. My family and I continue to send prayers and will never forget those who lost loved ones that day.
At this time I leave you with some solace words that I hope may help your bereavement on this most difficult time of the year.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully
A. LINCOLN.
