Having a blast at Crossville Oktoberfest! C'mon down and join in the fun. Admission just $10. Popcorn and peanuts are always free. Delicious German-style meals available 'til 8 p.m. Authentic German beer (the biergarten is open 'til 9:30) and terrific party music from The Rheingold Band and the Frank Moravcik Band all day.

With the approach of Hurricane Helene, my pal Meteorologist Mark Baldwin posted this graphic earlier tonight.
See that little circled "S" in Tennessee at 2 PM Friday? Yeah, that stands for storm and it's smack in the middle of the Cumberland Plateau.
FYI: The circled "H" in Georgia indicates hurricane, and the "D"s in Kentucky on Saturday and Sunday are tropical depressions.
Mark is forecasting 45-55 mph winds on the plateau tomorrow, with the possibility of some 60 mph gusts. Oh, and rain. Lots and lots of rain.
He's also predicting a 100-percent chance of rain on Saturday, and a 90- to 100-percent chance of rain Sunday. We could get three to five inches of rain. Did I mention the flood advisory? 🙄
Of course, all this rain comes just in time to wreak havoc on the annual Homesteads Apple Festival (can you guess where I'll be –along with Monica Buhaly Hackett – handing out flyers and trying to sell tickets to Crossville Oktoberfest?).
Should be a fun (read that "soggy") weekend!
