Our Story

Hi! We are Duc and Sara Nguyen, owners and operators of Banh Mi & Brews. We are excited to bring you our story. While Sara grew up in a typical Midwest Ohio large family, I was born in a coastal town of Vung Tau, Vietnam. My family escaped Vietnam as part of the “Boat People” migration and ended up in Seattle, WA.

Sara and I met in 2004 at Fort Lewis, Washington, while we were both serving in the Army. We have been fortunate to travel the world and live on three continents. Over the years and from the different cultures, we have experienced many customs and traditions. In addition, Sara has learned many recipes and techniques from my mother, Kim-Nhung.

After more than 15 years, we have now returned home to Creswell to be close to family and raise our kids. We look forward to sharing with you what we have been blessed to learn along the way. We hope you enjoy our twist on traditional Vietnamese cuisine. We hope to include local suppliers and farms in the near future for farm-to-table items. We plan on weekly specials in addition to our regular Banh Mi menu.

There’s no need to talk about the Bierhalle ☺ Come have some great local beers with us! Maybe we will discover some new favorites together.
