We had this big job Friday. Largest crowd ever.
The day is moving. One moment it’s 4am, and the next thing you know it’s 1pm and we have to move!
And here is where the whole meaning of the Meridian Tap House really stands out and shines. My girl starts my day with her encouraging text- today’s the day! You got this. And just short messages all weekend.
Kinsey and Libby are my youngsters and my rockstars; they are building up the most delicious sandwiches at 19/20- these two are going places! Eli is somewhere trying to remain undetected as to not get yelled at by me.
The bar is BUSY for a Friday lunch 💕💕 but they are doing a wonderful job!
And then my anxiety totally sets in. I mean, of course we can do this.. maybe it was the devil trying to sneak in, who knows. I text my girl Dena; who came back for the weekend to help out; “I’m nervous”.
Next thing ya know- Brianda and Gracie are by my side, just doing what they do. And just so graciously.
Talyn started his shift in town a few hours early to recover the lunch and prepare for dinner. Haley does the same.
Gracie nudges me- you have to get the steaks going; it’s time. And we’re getting it done.
And Bud shows up.
And then it truly is show time. Brady asks if I’d like help carving, he is also probably trying to stay out of Brittany’s way 😂.
Brad helps shred up some brisket as the line is moving.
And then it’s done. (Well i mean I still have dishes showing up)
And my phone is full of the best pics from Melinda- the bar is good, they don’t really even need me 😂.
The bar side of the event is running perfectly (almost). We had some great volunteers from Waypoint Bank. And some of our former peeps came back to town as well.
None of these amazing humans had to do any of these things. Or any of the others not mentioned.
They showed up because of their belief in Cozad. Their desire for a sense of community. Building relationships.
5 1/2 years ago when I opened… I wanted to make
💰 selling beer, pizza, and wings. I’m so grateful that idea faded quickly.
Now I know that building people up, partnering with your neighbors, creating relationships… and hopefully serving great beer and burgers- that’s the goal ☺️
Probably should have used some AI here 😂😂 instead of rambling on for hours.
I just wanted to share with all of you the love I felt all weekend. I sure hope it came out in the food we prepared.
