IT'S BLINK WEEK!!!

Starting this Thursday, October 8 and running through Sunday, October 11, BLINK returns to Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The largest light and art festival in the country is celebrating 10 years since its debut!

Here's what you need to know:

Thursday's opening night is all new. Instead of the parade, "Ready, Set, BLINK!" takes over five blocks around TQL Stadium from 4 to 9 PM with live music, food, drinks, and interactive art. At sundown the lights officially turn on, followed by the "First Sight" drone and pyrotechnics show over the stadium at 8:30 PM.

A record 90+ artists are taking part, from right here in Cincinnati to Spain, France, Germany, Thailand, South Africa, and Australia.

More than 60 blocks of projection mapping, light installations, and murals stretch across downtown Cincinnati, Over-the-Rhine, and Northern Kentucky.

Covington is front and center. Look for the brand new Madison Walls project and more than 10 new murals painted right here in Covington.

Many people don't know this, but "Smoke Justis" is actually the name of a wacky, early 20th century pitcher who played for the Covington Blue Sox, a short-lived minor league team!

Walter "Smoke" Justis was a hard-throwing right-hander from Indiana who pitched briefly for the Detroit Tigers in 1905, just a month before a teenage Ty Cobb debuted for the same club.

In 1908, he threw four no-hitters in a single minor league season, a record that still stands. By 1913, he found his way to the Covington Blue Sox.

On Opening Day at Federal Park, Smoke took the mound before a sold-out crowd and threw a shutout.

It was the high point. Attendance dropped off quickly, and by late June the league had moved the team to Kansas City.

Two years later, the American and National Leagues bought out the Federal League's owners, and the league shut down for good.

More than a century later, we're a block from where Federal Park once stood, and the name lives on.

Part baseball history. Part Covington history.

BLINK IS JUST DAYS AWAY!!

From October 8th - 11th, downtown Cincinnati and Covington turn into a walkable festival with interactive light exhibits! if you’re planning to attend, a little planning will make getting here a whole lot easier.

Road closures have officially started, so here's how to get to us without the headache.

🚧 WHAT'S CLOSED
Starting today (Oct 3): Park Place (Scott to Greenup) and Court Street, through Oct 12.
Nightly 6 to 11 PM, Oct 8 to 11: Roebling Bridge and Roebling Way, E. Third St, Electric Alley, and W. Pike St (Washington to Madison).
The festival zone also closes E. Fourth St, Scott St (Third to Fifth), Madison Ave (Fourth to Eighth), and W. Seventh St (Washington to Madison).
Good news: W. Fifth St and Greenup St stay open to cars.

🅿️ WHERE TO PARK
River Center, Kenton County, Midtown, and City Center/Hotel Covington garages are all a short walk away. Pro tip: reserve a spot at River Center or Midtown ahead of time on ParkWhiz. Heads up, meters inside the festival zone are off limits 5 to 11 PM each BLINK night.

🚌 SKIP THE DRIVE
TANK is running a BLINK Park & Ride from NKU on Friday and Saturday. Uber and Lyft work too, just expect drop offs on the edge of the festival zone.
