**The House on the Hill 🏡**
The only house within the Sharon School District that was currently for sale…
And somehow, it felt like so much more than just a house.
This house holds so many memories—years of laughter, love, milestones, and moments that will always have a special place in our hearts.
We had been throwing around the idea of selling our first home when the house next door to my parents went into foreclosure. So, we quickly listed our first home—the one we had bought during the crash for only $78K! (To this day, it is still my favorite house.) We had done some renovations, brought home our first baby there, and had the BEST neighbors.
With my oldest being 2.5 years old at the time, I started thinking about schools and moving back to Loganville from Social Circle. I wanted to make sure we were in the Sharon School District.
There was only **ONE** home for sale.
By the time we got our house on the market, that house was already under contract. But we proceeded with the sale of ours anyway.
Then, on the very day we closed on our home, we got the call…
**This house had fallen out of contract.**
I had our agent write up an offer before we had even seen the inside. Full price. We would pay closing costs. Whatever it took.
The house was boarded up and had been vacant for **SEVEN YEARS**.
A lot of people tried to discourage us from buying it, but I just knew it was the ONE.
We closed, and spent the next few months gutting and renovating it—with friends, family, and contractors all pitching in. I was so incredibly proud of that house.
And once again, we were lucky enough to have the BEST neighbors.
Funny enough, both sets of our neighbors from Loganville have since moved to the same city as our third home. How amazing is that?
And as soon as we moved into this house, we found out we were expecting our second baby! ❤️
Funny enough, both Social Circle and then Sharon were places I chose because I wanted the boys to go to those schools—and both times, we moved before they ever attended!
Life has a funny way of writing its own story.
Looking back, I realize it was never really about the school district, the timing, or even the house itself.
It was about the life that happened there.
The babies we brought home.
The renovations we poured our hearts into.
The neighbors who became friends.
The laughter, the milestones, the ordinary days that became precious memories.
It’s hard to put into words what a home can mean. It’s not just the walls, the rooms, or the view from the hill.
**It’s the life that happened inside.**
Some houses are simply houses.
**This one was home. ❤️**
