Got two events this weekend and my new
"I'm Just a Barback" hat arrived at exactly the right time. Can't wait to show up looking like an innocent little barback while secretly being the business owner, staff scheduler & trainer, menu planner & shopper, payroll & HR department, garnish grunt, and occasional feral little busywork creature behind the scenes.... If you see me carrying 200 Ibs of ice in my wagon, no you didn't. Method acting. 🎭

Okay but seriously… Where are all the WEIRD couples hiding? 😂 The ren faire ones. The museum wedding ones. The “we met playing D&D” ones. The “our own bearded dragon is definitely walking down the aisle” ones. I keep accidentally finding these couples and every single time I’m like OMG YES MORE OF THIS. I want the events with personality!!!

Give me the science museum venues. Give me the spooky forests. Give me the weird signature cocktails named after your cat. Give me the slightly concerning Pinterest boards gone wild. Give me the wedding that makes Grandma say, “Well I’ve never seen THAT before.”

I’ve had a pretty surprising number of other bartenders asking me lately about contracts, pricing, gratuity policies, staffing, sales calls, and just generally how I built The Tipsy Hellcat. And I’ve been open about it from day one, but I didn’t figure all of this out on my own. A lot of the systems I use today came from a mobile bartending mastermind I joined when I was first getting started. Was it an investment? Yep 🥴🫣 Did it save me from making a bunch of expensive mistakes and months of trial and error? Also yes. And tbh I also DIDN’T follow every step that was suggested, and literally paid for it later when I decided I needed to… So if you’re a mobile bartender trying to grow beyond just “winging it,” shoot me a message. Happy to share what’s worked for me. 🖤🍸
