Heartfelt congratulations to Green Cheek Beer Co., the successful winners at today’s sale of Barley Forge Brewing Co. We take pride and solace in knowing we are leaving things in very capable hands and independent craft beer will long flow from our fermenters.

I heard it said recently that nothing great ever comes from being warm and cozy. Amen and we’ll drink to that. This was a life we never could have imagined. It was five years filled with moments we will cherish for a lifetime. We also thank our staff for their dedication and support over the years.

Pictured here is 95-year-old Jackie Miller. She was at the door today at 11:30am waiting for us to open, and we always looked forward to her visits. Our lives are the better for Jackie and for every one of you. It has been a privilege to know and serve you.

For the time being, WE ARE STILL OPEN and Barley Forge is here for you until the deal closes (date TBD). Now please show up and support our staff and help us kick the last of The Patsy kegs!

🚨🚨STATUS UPDATE🚨🚨
December 6, 2019

First, what we do NOT know:
-We do not know who the new owner(s) will be or if they will continue the Barley Forge brand.
-And after December 11, 2019, we do not know the timeframe or details for exactly how the transfer of ownership will transpire.

Second, what we DO know:
-Currently, the listing remains active through 5pm PST, Monday, December 9, 2019.
-The sale date is set for the morning of Wednesday, December 11, 2019. It is unlikely, but this could get extended due to forces beyond our control.
-Assuming a sale does transpire on December 11, there will be a period of one or more weeks while the legal work gets completed and the sale recorded. During that period, we plan to keep our staff on board AND remain open.
-We will do our level best to give updates as information becomes available.
-We also know, because you have told us as much, Barley Forge has always been greater than the sum of its parts. A tasting room is a laboratory for life and Barley Forge was no exception. People had both first and last dates; met their future spouse; celebrated countless birthdays, showers, engagements, achievements, etc.; but also, and perhaps even more importantly, people sought solace and community when the going was not so festive or easy. We witnessed the latter daily, including at our communal Thanksgiving. In recent months, I took to adopting the hashtags “we are here for you” and “show up for others.” And more than hashtags, they become a lifestyle to aspire to.
-It has been our privilege to serve you. As a special thanks, effective Saturday, December 7 through Wednesday, December 11, please show up and help us kick the kegs with LOYAL LOVE $5 full pours, all beers (excluding guest taps), all day.
-Lastly, we know change and uncertainty is hard, especially on our staff. Now more than ever, we thank you for your support and patience while we continue to weather this sea change.
