From a little horse trailer known as “Lil Red” to a one-of-a-kind mobile bar, The Vagabond, and countless memories in between, this 1974 Miley has officially found its next chapter.
If this trailer could talk, it would tell stories of dusty summer days, long hauls to barrel races, quiet trail rides, and the kind of laughter that only comes from time spent with great horses and even better people.
I bought this trailer back in 2015 from my good friend Beth. We had already spent a couple unforgettable summers hauling the best little mustang out of Nevada, and a stunning palomino, to barrel races in this very trailer. Not long after, it became my very first horse trailer, carrying my gelding, Reno, across New York State to trail systems.
But its story started long before me.
Before Beth, it belonged to Whitney, an incredible NY horsewoman. And before Whitney, it was Karen’s, who bought it used when she was just 14 years old, as her very first trailer. Generations of horse girls, friendships, and memories all tied to one little trailer.
With a little TLC, this trailer had years added to its life, and eventually, it was reimagined into something entirely new, The Vagabond, a mobile bar trailer used by my sister and I, for our event bartending business, Bartenders Next Door. As a mobile bar, the trailer went on to establish new memories and connections.
Now, it’s off to begin yet another chapter as an on-the-go flower bar, available for rental in the Endicott area starting May 1st.
It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes next.
Grateful for the memories.
Grateful for the friendships.
And forever grateful for the incredible horses that brought us all together around this trusty little trailer.
Cassie and I will still be available for hire as bartenders for your upcoming events, but the bar trailer has just moved on to its next adventure.
