Tonight was something special.
Pueblo Southwest Community College hosted a Women’s History Month evening featuring local women writers sharing their voices through storytelling and poetry, and we were lucky enough to have a front-row seat. Thank you to Sabina Modeste for organizing this and for planting the seed of what we hope becomes a recurring part of our community’s creative programming.
Bethany Turner, Mimi Gorman, Brandi Blaisdell, and Sabina herself each brought something real and raw to the room, including the kind of insight that only a woman can truly deliver. (Hot flashes were discussed. You had to be there. Or, actually, now you can be.)
