Hoegemeyer - pronounced Ho-guh-my-er - came about when considering names for our barbeque barn in Corpus Christi for several reasons: with a strong German heritage (and "Opa's" out of the equation), a need for something unique, and an aunt and uncle who had a German surname, we found our answer. We've got brisket, chopped beef, sausage, pulled pork, St. Louis style ribs and Baby Back Ribs, smoked potatoes and more! The main building of Hoegemeyer's has had a storied past that we are still researching. We have found early aerial photos taken by Doc McGregor in the late 20s with the building in them. It appears that our building served as a boxcar-to-truck transfer house in its early days. More recently it has served as residence for Railroad Depot Antiques, and then Advanced Adult Daycare.
