A lifelong Cornelius resident, Jack is woven into the very fabric of our town. A true Old Town native, storyteller, historian, and friend to so many, he’s spent years preserving our stories, sharing our history, and bringing people together in a way only he can.

If you’ve ever had the privilege of spending even a few minutes with Jack, you know… you walk away better for it. More connected. More grounded. More proud to call this place home.

As Jack is currently in hospice care, we want to take this moment to honor him and make sure he feels the full weight of just how much he means to this community.

Old Town Public House family — our legend Jack needs us.

Jack isn’t just a familiar face. He’s our town historian, our friend, and a true Old Town Cornelius original. You honored him with coffee mugs, t-shirts, and a place in the farewell of this pub because he means something to this community.

Right now, he’s facing one of the hardest chapters yet — and he’s largely doing it alone.

Jack has been in and out of the hospital, including two ER visits in the last week. As of Thursday, he was transported by ambulance to Novant Health and admitted. He’s dealing with pneumonia on top of ongoing heart and mobility issues. Even the basics — like having a safe place to sit or shower at home — have become a challenge.

This is the moment where community matters.

If Jack has ever made you smile, told you a story, shared a memory of this town, or simply felt like part of what made OTC special — now is the time to show up for him.

Old Town Public House was never just a bar. It was a place where strangers became regulars, regulars became friends, and friends became family. You trusted us with your time, your stories, your celebrations- and sometimes your hard days. That means more than I can ever put into words.

This place had a soul because of the people in it. The staff who showed up and gave everything they had. The musicians who filled the room and made it feel alive. And the community who kept walking through the doors, night after night.

The Farewell Tour was more than I ever hoped for. Packed nights. Familiar faces. Meaningful connections. Heartfelt goodbyes. A reminder of just how special this place has been.

Closing this chapter is tough, but it’s also filled with pride. We did something special here. And special things don’t just disappear… they evolve.

This isn’t goodbye forever.
It’s just see you soon.

This Sunday is it.
The last live performance ever at Old Town Public House — and we can’t think of a better way to close this chapter.

Join us Sunday, Jan. 11th from 4–7pm as Major Dudes takes the stage one final time, delivering hands-down some of the best classic rock you’ll ever hear in a neighborhood pub. 🎶🔥

We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know this: OTPH deserves to go out loud, proud, and surrounded by the community that made it special.

We’re beyond grateful for every show, every pint, every late night, and every familiar face over the years. Let’s give it one last run before and close the doors the only way we know how — together.

These bands have been part of the scene from day one, and it just wouldn’t feel right to close this chapter without them on stage.

The final night of jazz on the OTPH stage.

For nearly a decade, some of the best jazz musicians in the Lake Norman area have filled this room with soul, swing, improvisation, and magic. This Wednesday, we come together one last time to celebrate the music that helped define OTPH.

Expect an incredible lineup, spontaneous moments, and the kind of energy that only happens when great musicians share a small stage and a lot of heart. If you’ve ever loved a jazz night here — don’t miss this one.
