What is it like owning a mobile bartending business? I get a lot of questions from friends and guests. I’ve decided to start a “ask the bartender” weekly forum here.
QUESTION from Allison Rhinehardt:
When hosting a beer/wine only event, how many choices of reds vs whites (and which types) and how many different choices of beer (and which types) are best?
ANSWER: Thank you for the question Allison. You always want to limit the choices for your guests so it doesn’t take long for the guests to decide ensuring fast service. If the guest count is under 125, I recommend one red, one white and maybe 1 sweet for wines. If the guest count is over 125, I recommend no more than 2 red, 2 white and a sweet. I recommend Pinot Noir or Red Blend for reds, Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay for white and Moscato or Riesling for a sweeter option. Of course, I tell the client to get what they want based on their likes and budget
For beer, I recommended 3-5 choices for beer. Like wine, I tell the client to get the brands they like and based on their budget. The most popular brands I see at events are Mich Ultra, Miller Lite, Corona, Coors Lite, and White Claws. Thanks again for the question!
We will start posting your questions and answers on Friday’s and see how it goes based on the number of questions received. Send in your questions about our experiences, stories, etc about owning the business and we will answer for everyone to enjoy. No question is off limit, although I may “clean up” the answer. 🤣 You may ask the question in the comments or you can private message me. Here we go!
ASK THE BARTENDER? What questions do you have and do I have your permission to use your name as the person who asked? If not, it’s perfectly fine. I’ll still answer it.
